"ya wanna jump out of a plane?"

"Sure"
I mean seriously, wouldn't you think about it for a little bit? Nope!!! Sure was Boyd's response and off they went.
I was freakin out as the intro video mentioned you may be trading your life for a short thrill and then theres the whole, flying with NO DOOR!! but these guys couldn't even get nervous if they tried.
We wondered where Ronan got his chilled demeanor but it is pretty clear now, IT AIN'T FROM ME, so here is the proof.

kids say the funniest things

So we are off on our usual treck to find pumpkins. I wonder why since we don't eat them but make more work for ourselves in the emptying and carving process just to have them sit out and rot!! I know the answer "cos the kids like to" Anyway, while Asha finds this cute little baby one and cradles it like a nuturing mother should, a gene she got from her Dad, not me, she says "I need to change it's diaper, it's all full of seeds" Ha!! Made me think of those early nursing diapers.

I like this little place just south of the District in South Jordan, not to over whelming with a kids corn maze, lots of tractors and photo ops. Now I just need to get my kids to smile for the camera. I think we got 2 out of about 30 pictures.

He's got the whole world in his hands!

Do you remember being this age? It seems we had ambition to do everything then some form of frying pan smacks us in the head and we start to doubt the things we are capable of.

Whenever I go to Temple Square I feel grounded and remember there's a bigger picture and I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me. I am a beloved spirit daughter of God who's life has meaning, purpose and direction. So off I go to tackle the laundry, dishes and an aftermath of weekend laziness :)

My Happy Place

I've been working on my room for a while now. I used a book called "the organized and inspired scrapbooker" it takes you through a series of questions to figure out what you'll do in your space as well as things you love and that inspire you creatively.

I love the "cropnstyle" cubes for practical storage but I like things to match and be uncluttered. I need more cubes to slide under my counter but need more money too:)

My brother in law, Mike, made me this awesome wrapping rack and I needed a perfect place for it which I finally have.

Other things I love, chocolate, hence the paint, my Motorbike, hence my gear hanging, my home town, hence pics and memories from London and teddies.

The sweet smell of victory and sweaty pits.

So after writing my last blog and eating only one square of chocolate therapy, my bleeding throat and burning lungs subsided to the point where my "I shall not be beaten, gene" kicked in and I took my lazy tired self to the gym!!! Yup, had an excellent weight work out and lived to tell.

So what are you waiting for.......work it people!!!!!

I made it again today so I am hoping I'm back on a roll.

Why does it hurt so bad?

It's been a while since I worked out, actually the whole summer, so I thought, today's the day!! I've thought this the past several Monday's but today really was the day and since I couldn't be bothered to go all the way to the gym, I thought a leisurely jog around the neighborhood would be good followed by some weights in the basement.
So why do I feel like my throat is bleeding and my lungs are collapsing?
I only made it down the hill and back up , maybe half a mile, and as for weights.....maybe later.

So it's official, I am old and out of shape. Luckily I have some twilight delight intense dark chocolate which is proven to have some kind of medicinal qualities so I will go and "heel" myself with that.

I'm thinking I may need to try again tomorrow.

Look who turned 6!

In case you were thinking I've lost it and can't remember how old Asha is, don't worry, I'm not talking about her but Aspen AKA "bunny". We lovingly built her on Asha's first birthday as an homage to a tradition.

When I was born, my Mum hand knitted me a bunny as she had for my brother and did for my younger cousins. (Don't get over excited people, I only have 4 cousins total so we grew up together and know everyones names and birthdays:) Anywhoo, I apparently took a fancy to my brothers bunny and it became my life long buddy. I do recall knitting his bunny a soccer scarf, maybe deep down I thought it might have abandonment issues but I only had love for mine, or his as it goes.

Wow, do I have ADD? I'm very easily sidetracked.

So growing up, I took great care of bunny, I have no idea if it's male or female, and that hasn't seemed to matter but was always my comfort when in need.

I decided that Asha needed a friend to love as appose to a collection of friends so we take bunny to buildabear every birthday and get her something new, a way to feel special. Last year it was a Batman costume! Well this is Asha we are talking about, but anyway, despite my best efforts, Asha has so many "friends" on her bed, she often sleeps on the floor so I am posting a happy birthday message to bunny's the world over, may they give love and comfort to all in need.

BTW my bunny looks pretty good for 40 don't cha think?

Freedom

Nothing screams freedom like riding a bike! There's no where for groceries and no room for anyone else. Lets face it, even if there is a someone sneaking a ride, you can't hear a word they are saying so it's total peace and the open road.
So why is it then, that complete strangers feel the need to tell you how dangerous it is and be careful ?

Our first Homecoming

What a hooha.
First theres all the effort that goes into asking and replying, all very creative and time consuming considering they had already agreed to go together.
Then theres the, what to wear, corsage, flowers for her Mom, tickets, dinner date, getting past the "not too thrilled about it all"Dad, nerve racking.
In the end, they had a great time and I got to see first hand what all goes into a semi formal dance. He better start saving if he's going to prom!!
