Blah blah...

you know when you just feel blah......

well that's been me for over a week. I got sick, couldn't exercise, which anyone who does, knows is a beast in itself, I keep getting emails and blog entries about everyones perfect lives and upbeat thoughts well.....blah to it all.
Half the people I know have a marriage in turmoil, health problems, kids with serious issues and financial burdens that anyone would fold under but luckily we don't blog about all that, how depressing!!!
So today I'm back in happyville, got muscle pain from yesterday's hardcore barbell endurance class ( Kaycee was on one for sure!) Can't wait for tonight's dance jam class and fusion, my Pilates/yoga class where I reaffirm why I could never be a gymnast and did I mention I am now down 7lbs thanks to the new weight watchers momentum program, which I love.
So sorry if your feeling blah, we do have those moments too but with every valley there is a peak so start climbing and then blog about how happy you are and how perfect life is..........or not!!!

My happy family picture.

It just wasn't Christmas....

until we had our traditional English Roast.
I realize now, that I grew up in house hold full of traditions. Every year was the same. You ordered Dandelion and Burdock from the milk man along with a black forest gateaux that you always ate frozen because you forgot to thaw it out. You dropped off gifts Christmas eve and had Grandma's to dinner Christmas Day after church. Dinner was the same, turkey and all the trimmings, roast potato and parsnips, brussels that only a couple of us ate and of course plenty of Yorkshire pudding. Listened to the queen, actually made fun of her mostly and watched Eastenders before Noel Edmunds came on and had us all bawling like babies. Boxing day was for cousins to play and Uncles to drink and New years was always a huge party.
Since moving to the US and having my own family, I learned the very first year that most celebrating happened Christmas eve and the next day was nothing but opening gifts. We have tried different things. Gone to a movie in the afternoon most years and sometimes snowboarding, a trip downtown to stay in a hotel for fun, we've evn tried to start the Christmas morning church tradition. This year was Disney and I already reported on that but I still seemed to have a sense of in completion.
Then I realized, it just wasn't Christmas until we'd had the roast dinner.
So we did it new years day, here are pictures for proof.

Christmas crackers a must have

The favorite "yorkshire pudding" which I only know how to make in one size.

To all my sisters

My sweet husband "bless his heart" is always trying to figure me out.
BTW, Good luck with that hunny.
He sent me this awesome article which I'd like to share.

Enjoy, your worth it.
and for the record, try using "bless his/her heart" after dissing someone, it seems to cancel it out quite nicely :)

I Love Relief Society!

I serve in this organization with some amazing ladies and let me tell you, the more we do, the more needs we find. In a very fast growing neighborhood, it's all we can do to keep up with new people moving and making sure they get visits. Too often we just head out, armed with fresh bread and jam (cutely wrapped of course) to knock on the doors of strangers who we hope will feel welcomed here. Well times are changing and hardships are all around us, lost jobs, broken families, illness the list goes on and all we have to offer is a shoulder, a listening ear and desire to step up when asked.
On a recent visit, I said in Jest to Cheryl, our cute president, bread and jam just wouldn't do it for me and so "Bless her heart"
she delivered!!

Diet Coke and Chocolate!!!
now that sisters, is what "in tune" means :)
